 Info about grants for homeschooling
« Thread Started on Nov 8, 2008, 12:34am »

Here are some things I came across :

1. Home schooling families do have access to grants. If you would be interested in knowing more about what kinds of grants are there for you, you would have to undertake a well-searched inquiry. As per general law one cannot approach the United States government for home school
grants; the funds are not too large.

Then what is the way to find such grants?

2.This 2nd site is a directory of a ton of resources for homeschool families:

3. Homeschool Scholarship: Providing What is Best For You

All parents want the best for their children in everything -- including education. As such, they are prepared to go the whole nine yards just to provide their children high-quality education. .......................However, due to the high financial cost of homeschooling, some parents cannot afford them. This is where homeschool scholarship programs of different foundations come in.

4. Wal-Mart offers grants for homeschooling. You have to contact their education department and talk to them about the grants. These are not well publicized and you may have to talk to more than one person in order to get the information you need.(Thats all the info I found about Walmart but the link where I found it follows).

5. Here's a list of different free homeschool programs & the states that offer them:

6. Here is a site that offers free lesson plans for teaching a huge variety of subjects. If you are looking for some fresh ideas and you don't want to spend any money...go take a look!

7. Through the generosity of many donors, the Home School Foundation is able to offer a variety of scholarships to homeschooling families to help with specific needs.

Please note that, because of our limited funding base, we will not be able to offer assistance with every financial need. If you are in extreme financial need and don't think you fall under one of the categories listed below, please send us a quick e-mail at info@homeschoolfoundation.org or call (540) 338-8688 to explain your circumstances.
