I actually don't care whether the carbonation is gone from my Dew or not. Its the caffein I crave. I think its a way for me to self medicate the ADHD since the only med I take for it is Welbutrin, and combining it with caffein makes me more clear headed. I still drink the stuff but I have been drinking approximately 1/2 of what I had been, sometimes less. To me, its a start. I hate to admit it but at first I ended up taking caffein tablets to get through the day. If I didn't, my brain would just become so foggy I couldn't even think and I would feel so sleepy. I haven't had to resort to those for several days though.

Interesting....its definitely the carbonation I crave. If I'm in a setting where I have to drink water, or kool aid, etc, I find myself thinking "I need BUBBLES" I've bought the caffeine free Diet Coke & happily drank it all day long, not even noticing the difference.

I hate the carbonation. I bloat up so bad from it when I don't have water and only drink sodas that I look pregnant. Yes, I've had people accuse me of being preggo even. I drink a couple of glasses of water and the bloating goes away. I weigh more than I did when I was pregnant with either of my kids. Actually, I think the weight I gained with both combined would be less than I have gained now. I hate carrying all this extra weight. I keep thinking about how much more energy I would have if I wasn't carrying all the extra weight. Its at least as bad as if I were carrying both of my grandsons at the same time.

I don't need the caffeine either. I have accidentally bought the caffeine free version and don't care one way or the other.
I cannot stand to drink any diet drink of any kind....I can taste the diet taste, and with my headaches, I don't want to take a chance...I heard that aspartame can cause headaches...
I think I would sleep better if I cut out the caffeine....so I am going to buy the caffeine free Mt. Dew 'on purpose' next time....and I am trying really hard to drink a bottle of water first when I am thirsty...then I pour my Dew over ice in a glass and nurse it all afternoon....trying to cut down to 1 12 ounce can a day.....
Need to break out the lemonade, or my ice tea maker.....

I can't do diet anything. I too can taste the difference and my feelings about aspartame being safe is also an issue.
I do drink soda (Dr. Pepper plain or Berries & Cream) whenever I eat Mexican or Italian food - if they have it. I just have to have soda or as we call it here, "pop" with those foods. I don't like the Mt. Dews or 7ups. Too me they are just way too sweet.
Misty, you have me chuckling over your need for bubbles.
I think I may be one of the odd ones here because I do like water and have a bottle with me in my purse where ever I go. I usually drink two of the smaller bottles as well as all that coffee. I figure since coffee is dehydrating I better make up for it by drinking water. LOL

Ok, I thought I would give you all my update Well I have been good. I have not had a pop for almost 4 days then last night Mike brought home dinner and a fountain pop. I drink nothing but bottle water. I feel so much better. I had horrible headaches at first and I would get really dizzy. My mil bought me some vitamins and told me to take them and that helped. But I am doing so much better I feel better I know now I do not need the pop
