Well, I got my courage up to call and guess what? No one was in the office today. I guess it will be tomorrow. I hate when that happens!

I meant to tell you all...I finally told Josh's school we were not coming back this year. It was really hard, but I got through it. I didn't talk to the principle because she's at a conference all week, but I had a loooong talk with her secretary. She was wonderful. She totally "got" why we were doing this. She knows Josh really well and understood our postition completely. She did warn me that I would be getting a call on Monday from the principle. I had no doubt about that. She was really bummed about our news and made a comment that once the word got out I should turn off my phone. I expected that, but hey, I don't have to answer. So, the deed is done. It's official....my Bug is a homeschooler now!

Well, our "official" start date is August 25th. I'm sticking to his old school schedule because all his friends (and his bestfriend) still go there. I want him to be able to have the same days off. We've actually started a unit study on Electing a President. He was really board last week and asked me if we could start some school work. I about fell out of my chair!!!! This is not MY child. He is soooooo excited about homeschooling. He's poured over all his books and has seen some of the lessons I've put together. He's ready to go. He's been gathering information on the two presidental canidates all week. He's got a huge poster board put together with their pictures and all their views on the issues. He's really getting into the whole thing. It's amazing to see.

Yikes! I know that was hard to do. I'm sure the principal will be as understanding as the secretary was.
It's so neat that Josh is psyched up for homeschool! I think you're going to do a super job with him.
