Dr. Joseph Torgesen is considered one of the top reading reasearchers in the country. Below is his paper on dyslexia--what it is, how it can be identified in the school setting, and how it should be remediated:

What a great paper! It helped me understand some things I didn't before but it also showed the importance of of early intervention.

Thank you. I don't think I made it 1/2 way through so I'm going to go back and read it when I really have the time to devote to it.

great article...My school district does not believe in early intervention. They commence their reading programs in middle school unless the parents put up a fight. I have a first grader showing lots of signs for the disorder. The article will help me create an argument for appropriate programming. Thanks for the info.
