YAHOO! Finally after MONTHS of trying to get Shannon's principal to call me back regarding her IEP, I got to talk to her spec. ed. contact person! I don't know if anyone remembers, but I've been trying to meet with the IEP team...now that she's in Jr. high, I figure it needs tailored a bit and I wanted to meet the teachers & see how they feel her progress is coming along. I had put several calls in to the principals office & no one would return them. I kind of let things slide over the holidays, but since school is back in session I decided enough is enough! I called the administration building & talked to the director of Special ed. for the entire district. She was very upset that the Jr. High principal had been ignoring me so sher called Shannon's contact person herself & had the woman call me.I just got off the phone with her & have a meeting set up for the end of this month. I'm so relieved! She was also upset that she had never received my messages. She said Shannon is doing extremely well & while she still needs special ed for math, they want to mainstream her for language arts. We will go over everything at the meeting. You don't know how happy I am right now....just had to share!
