OK, for reasons unknown to even me I have decided to reveal my ''Uncle John's Famous Ice Tea'' secret recipe. I and my children along with their never ending flow of friends that come and go similar to the ocean tides relentless wash against the shore, drink Ice Tea all year long come rain or shine, snow or snizzle.
1. Six tea bags 2. 1 1/2 cups sugar 3. Boil water (gallon/4 litter) 4. A gallon/4 liter container 5. Add contents & let sit 4-6 hours. Let cool and place in Frigidaire
I only use Celestial Seasonings or Bigelow tea. Any high quality tea will do. I usually put at least Three different flavors together (two of each), at times when forced to I have used three of one flavor and three of another with no dire effects so far.

So your one of those people. Hee hee. What I am referring to is one of those people who likes to shock a visitor by offering iced tea with sugar in it when the visitor hates sugar in their iced tea. Seriously, thanks for the recipe - I never thought of adding different flavors. I make sun tea from time to time which is sort of the same principle only in the sun rather than in the fridge but with NOOOO sugar. I like to shock my sugar loving visitors.

John, unlike JJ, I LOVE sweet tea! I make it occasionally. Once I made peach flavored & it was yummy! If I make regular flavored tea, I add half a squeezed lemon to flavor it. I hate when I go to my moms & pour a glass of freshly made iced tea, only to find there's no sugar in it! I like adding the sugar while the tea is still hot so it melts right into the tea. Adding sugar to cold ice tea never makes it taste right.

Misty you are so Right (unlike that other unnamed person who is off her rocker ~ ) Adding sugar to cold tea just guarantee's that the sugar will sit at the bottom of your glass, unable to break free of the icy grip of the cold tea.

Hello! I'm right here so don't be talking about me like that. I have you know that putting sugar in cold tea happens to be a great exercise as you must keep stiring. Why do you think I stay so moderately chubby. Stir, stir = exercise. Ewwe, I just got a shudder up my spine thinking of sugar'd tea.

I just got a shudder up my spine thinking of sugar'd tea. Yeah, I get that same shudder thinking of unsweetened tea.

Tea has to be sweetened but with Splenda. I am sweet enough without the added sugar.
