We usually end up paying some on bills and plan to save the bulk of it. Something always seems to come up so we end up using it Its a relief to know its there when the unexpected happens as it has every year for I don't know how many years. LOL

. But this year i want new flooring for the house. And the kids need new beds. . Sweety, what kind of flooring are you thinking about. The wood looking flooring that put in our kitchen still looks pretty good after 1 1/2 years. It's fairly inexpensive, starting at $1.50 a square yard up to as high as you want to go.
Have you looked at Hammocks for the kids yet . . . Just might look into the hammocks. Then if i need to kick them out they can take their beds with them..hehe Yes i want the wood flooring. I think its called pergo? Its got to be alot easier to clean then carpets.

Like CG, we always save our refund. We call it our "Emergency Fund" for the year. If we have any unexpected bills we use this money instead of dipping into our regular savings. I can't wait for our refund becuase I only have 100.00 dollars left from last year.

My sister had wood floors for 10 years. They just moved to a house thats all carpeted & she said its hard to believe how much easier carpeting is to clean! And she has a 2 year old! She loved the look of wood flooring, but says she'll never go back to it. I wish I had wood floors, simply because I think my allergies would improve without carpeting.

Sweetpea-I have hardwood floors throughout my entire house and I hate them. They are cold and make everything so much noisier. They aren't so easy to keep clean either. You can see every speck of dust and you can't vacuum so cleaning them is a real hassle. I always had carpet and thought this would be better but no.

Like CG we usually plan to save the money but sometimes wind up using the money for bills or things needed for the house. Thankfully, we usually don't have to pay because we have a little extra taken out of our paychecks each week. Even just a little bit each week helps. It really does work and it sure beats being stuck owing.

Being self employed, no matter how much we pay in, we almost always need to pay anyway....or if we do get any back, it goes for the first quarter payment which is due......April 15th, I think.
we can't win.
