So, this disorder runs in your family, which is the reason you suspect that your children have it? Who??

Lillian,
I was adopted at birth and I only know part of my birth mother's history.
The reasoning behind the genetic problem is complex. My oldest child was born with cleft lip and palate and has had severe psychiatrict problems since a young child. He also has many medical problems. All of these are within the symptom list for 22q. His learning problems fit the profile generally seen in this population. A doctor at a cleft palate clinic approached us one time because my son also has the facial appearance typically seen in 22q. Now I see my dd developing similar psychiatric problems and the exact same learning problems that her brother has. It just seems like too much for mere coincidence.
I have contacted both a hospital in California and one in Pennsylvania that specialize in 22q and have provided detailed medical records. Both institutes felt there was significant issues and that we should follow through with visiting one of the 22q. The only problem for me is the financial resources to do so.

rakuflames, Tried your suggestion last night with breaking the mixed number problems into two problems and it did seem to be helpful, so Thanks You had stated that your child had a similar profile, so what did you find helped your child to be successful in school? I'm trying to compile a list of accommodations/ modifications or other suggestions for dd's next IEP meeting.
