Hi to all, I am Jaime and I think I've come to the right place. I'm a stay at home mom of 3, ages 10, 5, and 3. My 10 year old was diagnosed with adhd when he was 6. My husband drives truck and is gone during the week, leaving me to tend to the kids all the time. But at least we agreed to do it this way that way we don't have to cough up a ton of money to daycare. I tend to get stressed, just like any other parent. My 5 and 3 year olds are easier for me to handle than my mouthy 10 year old, who is on meds during the day for school and it wears off by 5pm or so. We fight a lot, mostly power struggles, but he's a good kid otherwise. Sometimes I want to pull my hair out, but I keep trying everyday because I love my kids, warts and all. I came here for relief and also if I can help just one frustrated parent, that would be nice. I'm here to vent but also listen. Nice to meet all of you.

Yes, I may be biased, but I do agree you've come to the right place! LOL. Glad to have you aboard. I'm looking forward to getting to know you. There are several other parents here who's husbands are away throughout the week, so I know you'll have others to identify with on that issue. Meanwhile, make yourself at home & if you have any questions, just ask away!

A big welcome to you Jaime! I believe I'm the only member who does not have kids at home. I initially came searching the internet for information about ADHD for my sister. She has two kids, one DX'd with ADHD (possibly ODD or Bipolar). I also had custody of my grand niece (ADD) years ago but back then I lived in a naive world concerning AD/HD ....and two grown step-sons.
Anyway, we are very happy to have you. I'm sure you will be a wonderful addition to our group.

My son will be 13 this month and has ADHD inattentive. I'm a SAHM also with a trucker hubby. He has been home lately due to a back injury but I was the only parent at home for years so I know what you are dealing with to an extent. I only have the one at home though. I also have an adult daughter and beautiful twin grandsons who are 2 1/2.

Welcome to our site! You have definately come to the right place. My husband is not a trucker, and technically not gone all week...but we own a wrecker service and at times he is working 18 hour days, so it seems as if I am handling things all by myself. I have 4 children, 2 girls, ages 21 and 27 who live on their own, and 2 boys ages 14 and 11, my 27 year old and 11 year old are both ADHD inattentive. The 27 year old is married and is mother to my 3 grandchildren, two girls ages 7 and 3, and a boy age 5. I am also in college to earn my Early Childhood Education bachelor's degree so I can teach.
