Misty, That is totally crazy...and scary. I'd be getting my kid out of there too. I think the cyber school sounds like a great idea for Shannon.

Yesterday a letter came home with Shannon. Seems there was a fight at the HS & a teacher tried to break it up. She was shoved into a bank of lockers & broke her back! Now they have the DA coming into the 2 Jr. highs & the HS to try to solve the "emerging gang problems". Its been all over the news here. I'm glad I'm getting Shannon out of there. I sent a letter in today requesting her transcripts, & copies of report cards & IEP. There's no excuse for this kind of violence going on. I worked in a tough urban high school that had had a huge riot a couple of years before I started working there. The district police came onto campus, and when I worked there, we had five police officers on full time. This is what must happen at Shannon's high school to straighten it up, and until then, it would be a cold day in Hades before I let my child go to that school. There is no way I'd let my son go to that high school. I'm glad you have cyber school as an alternative.

Well, today at 4 is my meeting. Wish us luck! I have all the info gathered, plus note paper & pens to take notes. Shannon is going with me. She wants to be there in case she has questions. I'll check back tonight to let you all know how the meeting was.
