I talked to Chase about the class, and bless his heart, he holds less of a grudge about this teacher than I do. He said, "I don't really have a problem with Mrs. ______."
So, I called Mrs. P back and she is going to get with the guidance counselor to get the classes switched.

Kids can be so much more forgiving than us, can't they? I'm glad Chase feels comfortable enough to try it again. He's earned it and deserves to shine.

I know it, and I really, really love lillian's idea. I have some t-shirt iron on transfers, and Mark can draw the pic if I can't find clip art to use...I bet I can make a shirt like that. And he can't get into trouble, it is just a saying, not offensive...and the only one it may bother (if she even remembers) is that evil teacher.

She'll remember. I would bet money that he isn't the first student she has told that to.

How about if he just enters the room humming "Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow". OK...I'm evil.
I agree with CG...she'll remember her hateful comment.

That would work too....LOL I know that if the principal knew about her comment...this happened in the elementary, different principal.....he would crack up if he saw the shirt. He came right to mine and Chase's aid last year when that teacher was not upholding the 504 plan, got everything I was asking for out of the teacher. If she says one thing to Chase that is snotty, I am sure that this principal will make sure she knows it is unacceptable to treat kids that way. He saw me in the office on open house night and told me to let him know right away if the 504 is not being complied with. I really love him he is one of a kind...I want him to move to the high school when chase does, LOL

some people should not be working with children. That is exactly what I told the principal that day. Perhaps at one time she enjoyed her job and the children, but she now has the reputation among the children as a grumpy, rude teacher. None of the kids like her and she only gets the kids that are gifted, so most of those enjoy school, and teachers. I told the principal if she dislikes the children so much that she disrespects them, she should get another job. She has been a teacher (and not a new one) since before Jonna was in 4th grade. Jonna had her as a teacher and Jonna will soon be 28 years old. Not that older teachers are bad....the teacher that championed Chase that same year is OLDER than this one. She just enjoys her job and the kids and they know that and respond to it accordingly. *There is a hall monitor at Nette's school that is rumored to be crabby with the kids and yells at them she has been decent so far with my girl last year. For good measure I wore my work ID on purpose for her to see this morning something I do not normally show all.
