You have come to the right place. Many of our kids are in the same age group as your son so you will have a lot in common with us. My son is 13, ADHD inattentive and starting 8th grade.

Welcome! I am glad you found us. I sure understand your frustration with the school. My son is almost 8, and going into 2nd grade and I have been battling with school since before he started kindergarten.

Hi, wow, straight to the top of the food chain! Glad you got some results you all were looking for and I hope it works out for your son! I have a 14 year old daughter with ADD inattentive entering her freshman year of high school, she is on an IEP for a math LD and some ADD stuff is added in there. I feel your frustration, the road to getting a working IEP in place for us was nerve racking and strange. My kids start school tuesday, so we will see how it all starts out for her and keep you all posted.

Welcome to the board. My girl is starting 4th grade on Wednesday and so far I have been lucky with our school district.

My son just turned 12 and is also in 7th grade. Unlike you, I have the rare school/principal that is in my son's corner. I admire your spunk going straight to the top! I'd like to think I would do that if needed.
Welcome to the board!

Hi! Wanted to say welcome. I'm the odd ball here, my son is 9 and diagnosed with a mood disorder - most likely Bipolar. I love coming here to just shoot the sh** and have a safe place to vent and share my experiences. My son has some ADHD traits like impulse control problems, inattentiveness and hyperactivity, but I don't think he has ADHD comorbid with bipolar. They just over lap in this instance.
Hope you make some great friendships here as I have in the past few months!

Welcome, Carol! I think that you will find a lot of friendship and support here. I have a son, almost 20 years old, ADHD combined/LD/gifted/dysgraphic who just started his sophomore year in college. It's been a long interesting journey and fortunately, things seem to just get better and better.
