I just came and saw you here a few minutes ago and sent you a welcome pm so I won't repeat myself. I'm glad you found us too. It helps so much to know you aren't alone and that others understand what you are going through. Since your son is 14, I'm sure your experience is going to be very helpful for us also.

I'm glad you found us! I also have a 14 year old. Mine's a girl but I do know how hard they struggle at this age. Not only with school work, but 14 is a hard age even when they aren't dealing with the issues our kids have to deal with. I'm sure you'll find some help here & be able to help others as well.

Hi Mellissa,
Welcome! So glad you found us too! This is a great bunch of people with a a lot of info and support.
My son is almost 20 (away at college), adhd, gifted, LD in reading and language, and dysgraphic (his words all ran together with irregular spacing here and there, wrote between the lines in a wavy line, letters incorrectly formed; could only print; I retaught him cursive in 12th grade.).
You asked about getting ideas down on paper, so I wrote a post for you in the Learning Disabilities Section under Dysgraphia titled "For Mellissa"
glad you joined us!
