Well today was the meeting and guess what we got??? AN IEP!!!!!!!!! That's right we have finally, after 2 years of fighting that school gotten Sean what he needs. We go back on January 12 to create his IEP. The 2 members of the Child Study were all for it right from the beginning after having read the evaluation. But Sean's teacher and the guidance counselor(no surprise) kept insisting that Sean did not need any extra help. But in the end we got it! I honestly can't believe it.

Like I said, we go back in January for the IEP meeting but for now we do know two things that will be included. One, he will be in a special ed pull-out reading class. Secondly because I mentioned that it sometimes takes an hour and a half to do Sean's reading homework with him he will only have a half hour max of homework a night. If he is not finished after that time then he stops anyway. Once he starts with the special ed reading class he should be having homework that is more suited to his abilities so it won't take so long.

Having that cut-off point on homework is going to change a lot around your house I'm sure.
