Kelly, Its great to see you here! I was hoping you would come. You don't know how much we appreciated you taking the time to help us navigate the subway system so we could go places we never would have dared try to get to on our own! You made the trip much more special than it already was. Thank you! Barb

Hi. My name is Tanya. I live in South Africa. My 9 year old son was diagnosed with NVLD at the beginning of this year. He is currently in a special needs school and he is not coping. I am investigating NLVD with a vengeance so that I can determine the best way forward for him. I feel that the school situation he is in at the moment is not sufficient for his special needs and I am now inclined to think that perhaps we need to employ a special needs teacher and home school him. I would really love to chat to other NVLD parents / teachers for their input and advice.
Many thanks in advance. Tanya

Tanya, Feel free to post as much as you are comfortable with about what is going on with your son. We will do what we can to help you find the answers you need. Come join us in the friendship section! Its a great place to hang out and have fun with other adults who are going through the LD walk with our kids.

Glad you joined us, tanyaschenk!! I'm sure there are parents here that can relate to what you are going through. Some of them may not read this section, so if you feel comfortable posting in the main sections of the board, you'll probably get a better response. By the way, I have a cousin who lives in S. Africa. I've never been there, but from photos she's shown me, its a beautiful place!
