Me too. Its nice to have another mom who is going through the same thing. We can share the good parts & the bad. I'm not nervous at all though,. Shannon is really ready to go back to a more traditional setting & I am really ready to have her go. Not that I don't like having her around, but I'm tired of nagging her to do her classes & reading her English stories aloud for hours at a time. I'm ready to have her be more independent again & on a more regular sleep schedule.

I think Josh is really ready too, but he does go back and forth with me. I am SO ready to give up the hours of lesson planning. Doing it on my own was tough, always wondering if I've done enough. I will miss the lazy days of reading in our pj's, taking our time to really understand a subject, and just being able to RELAX when it came to school. I know he's learned a lot being able to take it at his own pace.
What I'm dreading is the anxiety of the whole school situation, the hours of homework after its taken everything out of him just to pay attention DURING school hours, and you can throw the whole social aspect in there too! It will definately be an interesting year.

I don't know what your charter schools are like but I've heard ours (at the HS level anyway) doesn't give much homework. They are really hands on with a lot of group projects & field trips & such. Shannon is really hoping they have some creative writing classes to choose.
