Just wondering where everyone is celebrating & whether anyone has to cook this year. Thanksgiving for me will be at my moms again this year. Usually we have 40+ people but this year theres a mere 22 expected. Everyone brings something & everyone helps clean up afterwards. Everyone writes their Thankfuls on paper & puts them in the Thankful box. after dinner the kids take turns pulling them out & reading them & we all try to guess who's it is.

Well, I will be having Thanksgiving at my house but I don't have to do all the cooking so wasn't sure which one on the poll to pick. I'll do the basic stuff like the mashed potatoes and gravy, yams, dinner rolls, etc.. but being a vegetarian I refuse to cook the so that will be someone elses job. Maybe my sister. We don't appoint anyone to bring a certain thing. Everyone just brings a side dish and dessert or "whatever" and it always seems to work out great. Even if two people bring the same dish the food doesn't go to waste. We are a bunch of vultures.

I said number 1 but usually we all pitch in to cook and people will bring what they made.

We will be home and I will do the cooking. I like to be the cook because then everything is the way I like it. Not sure if I will be inviting anyone.

Well, I picked #1 but were not actually going to be at home. We're going to my sisters cottage for Thanksgiving. I'll be doing all the cooking while my mighty mountain men (hubby and Josh) will be out hunting. I usually cook at my house and everyone comes, but the boys really wanted to hunt over Thanksgiving break so my sister is lovingly letting us use their cottage for four days. I can't wait. We've always wanted to spend either Thanksgiving or Christmas up there and this is the first time we're actually going to do it. It's so beautiful, right on the lake in the middle of the woods. It's very Norman Rockwell. I'm hoping my parents will come up for a day or two. They love it there too. My sister and her family may even come up the day after the holiday, so hopefully we'll have a cottage full of family.

I'll be at my Mom's this year but I do help with a lot of the cooking and of course good ole clean up. My sisters and I usually take over the kitchen once we are all there. My Mom usually lets us because 4 women in the kitchen, oh boy. Anyone else have kitchen wars with the other ladies in the family. We have had a few. I think sisters are the worst working together in the kitchen plus we are Italian too, LOL. We always make up though and wind up laughing. We'll see how it goes this T-G. It's always interesting. Hope everyone here has a nice T-G.

I ended up picking #1 but looking over the choices, eating out at a restaurant is looking better and better. We have done that several times in the past and since it totally drives me nuts to have people yakking at me while I'm trying to cook I may change the game plan.

I picked at the in-laws, since BF told his parents we were coming before discussing it with me. And now my parents wanted us to be with them. Ugh... Whichever place we go to, we will take a dish.
I actually wanted to take some of my Girl Scouts to help in a shelter that day. But haven't pursued that . That would be very rewarding.

we stay home, I kind of cook, I buy those precooked meal deals from the grocery store and just heat and eat!! Our tradition is to go hiking, cook, eat and eat, watch the macy's day parade and then go outside and have fun.
I am not into the tradition of cooking and slaving all day like my Mom did, she really stressed herself out over making the holiday perfect in her eyes!
