Adults with ADD have spent much of their lives being reminded of the what is wrong with them. For years they may have been corrected for being forgetful or for not paying attention. It is time to celebrate the wonders and greatness in adults with ADD. As a tribute, I completed an informal survey (50 ADDults were asked what is their favorite ADD trait).
The following were the top 10 answers.
Endless Energy
Hyperfocus
Energy and hyperfocus combined
Great Imagination
Creativity
Humor
Ahead of “establishment” thinking
Creative thinking, problem solving
Spontaneity
Great passion for interests
History has shown us how much those with ADD can accomplish. Many figures we see as great achievers are thought to have exhibited symptoms of ADD. For example, Albert Einstein, Mozart, Beethoven, John F Kennedy, Winston Churchill, and Walt Disney. So enjoy and be proud of who you are!!!
