Dawn . . . I have just Diagnosed you with Procrastinators ADD or PADD . . . Here's an Example. We have a friend of Sean's staying with us because of family problems, so I was going to 'straighten' up Rachel's former BR that is now an office for him to use. Rachel is moving out Monday and said AJ might want to use the basement where she had been using it as her BR. I asked him which room he wanted and he said the basement, which meant I didn't need to clean up the office for him. What a relieve that was for me, I felt like I was just freed from a jail sentence almost.

Have you ever heard this (I think) Newton's Law of Physic's: ''A body in Motion tends to Stay in Motion and a Body at Rest tends to Stay at Rest'' ? Well that's what I've been repeating & repeating & repeating to my self to get started on something that seems impossible for me to get started on . . .

. . . and we can nag each other to get them done. OK, I'll start: JJ, GET OFF THE COMPUTER RIGHT NOW YOUNG LADY ! I MEAN IT ! I'M NOT KIDDING ANYMORE! I wan't on the computer when you posted that, John. ;D Since Misty is not adhd and I'm very likely on the very low spectrum I'm quite certain procrastination isn't an adhd thing, exclusively. I believe if you are adhd then you can really get distracted, unknowingly, and totally forget you have to do X. Now with me it is almost a constant nagging thing over my head, the "thing" I need to do. But I willfully go seek other things to do to forget about it for a little while. Really stupid, but that's what I do. I guess, like Misty, I like to procrastinate. They say some people thrive under stress. For example, If I don't start my day rushing to get ready for work I'm not productive. In other words, I "need to" barely make it to work on time. There is something about rushing to get ready, rushing out the door, rushing through traffic that keep me rushing through out the day. If I happened to have spare time and don't start my day in a rush then I'm a slug the rest of the day. Not sure if that ties in with anything we were talking about but I guess I'm trying to make a point that some people just have to have the drama/stress. I dunno....

JJ I think your on to something there. I remember reading about ppl with anger issues, and they actually become 'addicted' to it. It releases some kind of brain chemical . . . maybe some of us PRC {procrastinators} are addicted to something that our brains produce when we go into PRC mode.
I remember several therapists telling me that PRC is very resistant to therapy.
