My girl has been running around in her underwear all day and has no desire to get dressed. She said she wanted to go to the park and so I pulled out clothes for her to change into and that did not work she keeps on playing and getting into everything.
Now that she was diagnosed with inattentiveness she is showing that more than the other diagnosises. She also has moderate to severe ADHD and ODD, arggg how to motivate her. It just is not healthy to want to sit around the home all day at least when she is hyper she wants to be on the move this is different. When school begins I will be dressing her otherwise she will not get dressed at all, another arrgggg.

she will soon discover that going to school in her PJ's or undies is not so cool lol...
put her in the car and take her out as she is .. and point out everyone staring at her..
*hmmm I wonder is learning by humiliation is good advice*

I hate to admit it, but my natural inclination is to get distracted when I should be getting cleaned up and ready for the day. If I get around as soon as I get up, even before breakfast when possible, its easier. Then its done and I can face whatever comes. If I want to go somewhere, I can just go rather than dread all the work involved in getting myself ready and missing out because I put off getting around..
Maybe you can set up a rule that she has to get dressed before she leaves her room in the morning, no playing in her room either, until she is dressed. Eventually she will learn that if she wants breakfast, she needs to get some clothes on first. If you lay her clothes out so she only has to pull them on and be done, it won't be a major chore for her to dress quickly.

Jill, How old is she? My daughter loved to be in just her undies until she was about 9 & then somewhere in that 9th year she finally began acquiring modesty. I know how it can drive you nuts! What we did is make a deal with Shannon that she could be in just her undies on days we had no where to go & no one coming over, but she HAD to get dressed without a fuss the other days. If she gave us a problem getting dressed when it was required then she lost the next "undie day". It worked for the most part. Once she realized we intended to stick to the rules, that is.

She loves being in her underwear and does not understand embarrassement or cares for that matter when i tried explaining emabarassement to her. It would appear she does not embarrassed shy yes but not the other.
