Thank you so much for the encouraging words. After a morning like I had this morning with my lil man! I wanted to pull my hair out. And I try not to yell or raise my voice because it does no good and I know he cant help it but UGH!!!! Thank GOD I have awesome people that I work with ( I work for a Pulmonary Dr).
Ok done with my vent.
And thank you bugs. My lil guy gets away with a lot cuz he does know how to use those blue eyes and smile!
His current teacher is a Godsend. She emails me everyday and has since the 2nd day of school. I hadnt had Dakota evaluated yet at the time but she recognised things in the classroom ( her husband is ADHD and Bipolar) She was actually the one that coaxed me into meds. She said she plans on being at his high school graduation. How sweet is that?!?

Your little guy is simply adorable! I can see why its hard to get mad at him. I have a 5 year old nephew & one day my sister was yelling at him & I said how can you be mad at him when he looks at you with those big brown eyes & that adorable face. LOL. I think she wants to send him here for a week so I'll understand! Anyway, you're very lucky he has a teacher that makes the effort to stay in such close contact. All too often, our kids aren't that lucky. My daughter is in 10th grade & I can count on one hand the number of teachers she's had that have truly cared enough to go the extra mile.

So its been a few days since I posted but my son's sleep has gotten a lil better. He hasnt been complaining of the bad dreams for about a week now. Thank GOD! Momma has actually gotten sleep! So I took my son to his psych dr today and we have now increased his Tenex up to .5mg 3x a day. I asked her about the Intuniv, she said thats what we were working towards. But because my son is only 5 (he will be 6 in August) we cant give it to him yet and that she was titrating him up slowly until then. So at this point Dakota is fine when the meds are freshly in his little body but when it wears off....man he is horrible. Hoping this all works out!!! Ok so my question is, Who has experience with Intuniv? I know its the long acting Tenex, just would like some input please.

Amiee...so glad the sleep thing is getting better. Nothing worse than not getting a good night sleep. Wish I could help you out with the Intuniv. It wasn't available when my son took Tenex. I know we would have tried it if it was...lol. In my opinion, a long acting tenex would have sounded good to me. My son had such issues with the tenex not lasting long enough. It seemed to last only a couple hours for him. I think your doc is doing everything perfect. With him being so young, you need to take a little more time to figure it out. I think your on your way Thanks for the update

Ya that is kinda where I am at. The Tenex wears off in about 3 hours and thats pushing it. But obviously we have to slowly increase the dosage. I feel like things are getting better for him, well when medicated that is. ;D
