That is a very good question and one I've never thought of.

My kid with ADHD is younger and my older one is very well behaved in school but I bet it does have an effect. For example: I have a friend and we became friends because Sean and her daughter were in the same class last year. She has seen him at his finest and knows how much trouble I have with him. Anyway she volunteers in the lunchroom so she knows a lot of the kids there. One day Joe was outside for gym when we were picking the kids up and he waved to me. She was like" THATS your son?"In total shock. I said yeah, why? She said "I know that kid, he is so polite and helpful. He is such a such a nice kid. I just can't believe you have a kid who is so good." I guess that's like opposite ripple effect.

I guess she found out you do know how to raise a child and Sean isn't due to your parenting. I tend to point out to people that I did fine with my daughter so they can stop thinking my son's problems are all me, so I spotted that one immediately.
