they are so whinny it drives me crazy. She has had a fever now on and off a week now and yes I will be calling the Pediatrician back come Monday. She has been on anti-biotics now since Thursday and she will be fine for most of the day then the fever comes back it is weird. I am going crazy with the whinnyness and now she is complaining her legs hurt and that could be because she was jumping around yesterday trying for fun to kick her own butt. Do not ask? I am ready to jump out a window about now.

I have no idea how everyone missed this and I feel bad. I'm sorry Jill. But I had to comment because the "kicking her own butt" cracked me up. Just like a ADHD kid, isn't it. I do hope she is all over her sickness.

Wow! I missed this too! Shannon doesn't get Whiney, but she gets moody & grouchy, which is just as bad!

In our house, I have established a group effort when someone gets sick. Whoever is the "poor thing" or the sick one, this individual gets whatever they want, meaning special pampering in the way of another memeber fluffing their pillow or making a cup of tea or wanting some extra attention. I do not always have to wait on the sick one hand and foot, because the other members are invested in doing it. They know when they get sick, they will get the same treatment from someone else in the house. It has even worked when I am sick. I happen to have three children, so it helps in the way of this strategy. Hang in there. I do hope she feels better soon.

I only have one child, but we have a "sickness basket". When someone is sick, the well ones fill the basket with tissues, cold meds, magazines, books, cough drops, etc. The sick one gets the prime comfy spot on the sofa & gets the basket beside them. It saves the sick one from having to get up & down to get things the need & the well ones fill the basket up, so they are helping too. This basket was my savings grace last time I threw my back out!
