I have tried a lot of things but sadly realize I cannot change his personality. I am hoping that the social skills classes he will be starting help some-do you know if there is anything like that available where you live? It is hard to see your kid be disliked-Sean was DX with a lazy eye not too long ago and now he has to wear a patch on his eye-I know this is going to be one more thing for the kids to pick on. He has had social skills classes before with a psychologist. It bothered my mind a little that the psyc worked individually because how are you supposed to teach a kid to exhibit better social skills if he is the only one at the therapy room. He also attends pedagogical therapy twice a week, and this therapist has been great, I really feel this therapist could do both jobs since she also has kid groups. So I thought about talking to her so she can squeeze my child in one of those groups on an additional day. She has a full therapy list, but maybe she can do that for me so I cut the psychologist part which by the way I think goes at extremely slow pace. His pedagogical therapies have always been individual also. But this lady is awesome. She has got to manage my son sooo well; my son is not very easy to deal with since it is hard to make him cooperate at things that don't interest him much, so... I will talk to her so then I can take a decision on what I'll do. I will keep you posted. I agree KK, it is almost impossible to change our kids personalities, but we just do our best effort so they feel comfortable and accepted in their environments. It is very hard work.

I will be willing to try anything to make it easier for him-after reading your suggestion I looked online and found that they actually do sell eye patches that have different things on them. I'm going to ask him first as Im not sure if he would want them or not. He doesn't really enjoy being the focus of a bunch of attention. I did talk to his teacher about it at the end of last year because I knew he would have to be wearing it full time in Sept. so I hope she explains it to the kids so he does not have to answer their questions. Thanks Puzzled! Mary-That is odd that a social skills class would not involve other kids-the one Sean is going to is a group thing. How can you be social by yourself? Good luck to you getting him into the group-keep us posted.
