I gave some tips to you all and I am really glad that they motivated some people!
Here is a BIG tip for all of those of you that carry the major hyperness like I do. I was not one of the lucky ADHD'ers that lost the external hyperness as an adult, I just added more of the internal to it! aRGHHHH.
The tip is do not ever under estimate the need for physical activity! I was told for 4 weeks now to increase my physical activity level even though I already major fast walk almost every night! I was way resistant to trying to schedule something else on my new planner now, I was afraid because once I put it in the planner, I will do it! I bit the bullet, I started weight lifting again and am off work this afternoon and and on my way to replace my fitness punching bag that has been blown out for a while. The increase of the wieght lifting alone has improved my over charge of adrenaline, I only added a 20 minute routine for now of lower weights for 10 reps of 3 sets each and I have noticed my body appreciates it also! BUT my mind really does, it makes it so with the ipod in my head and the strain of wieghts, I really do not notice any other thoughts for that 20 to 30 minutes! It is like a brain vacation for me!
I scheduled it, got the machine in the living room and am on my way to the sports store in town, if they do not have the free standing bags, I will get one in Portland this weekend.
Soooo if you need to do this, start small and slow, something doable, and just do it! You will be amazed - now if I could figure out a way to do this for like 5 hours a day, I would be so peaceful. I actually do my best in fire season on fires for 12 or 16 hours a day, lots of physcial activity, my problem was partly the transition to management and leadership! I do believe it will also help some of the negativity that was creeping in my head on the job and at home!
