This year it was smaller and it was focused on transition to middle school. Annette is done with PT due to tae kwon do she has mastered the physical stuff they wanted her to learn, OT still on consult. I demanded at the meeting the separation of a boy in her classroom because he has bullied her since Kindergarden. I think the boy may have ADHD too from stories I have heard and he has the opposite he annoys others but they like him (the clown) and my girl gets the label of freak and is treated poorly. This boy sets the pace her class is the rougher crowd the ones who are the in crowd so to speak so when he starts on my girl the rest follows. The school teacher and social worker did back me up so now they will be separated. It is sad for all the kids her school are mean to her and do not include her in anything she is a social leaper and it kills me inside.
Annette is now in counseling for socialization skills and prior has improved greatly only the kids do not give her a chance. Annette talks to other kids through dance and martial arts and of course another school district. The boys and girls club we got her into is in her district with older kids I have to share is going well a few of the girls have taken Annette under their wing and I have heard when I told the school Social Worker one of the names of the girls is a good one for Annette. One of the girls who has taken Annette under her wing will be in 7th grade next year so will be there when my girl gets there. I was informed she used to be a bully but has calmed some and is in the more popular crowd. I am praying this girl stays this way and looks out for Nette for if she is what they say she is kids in her group will fear her.
Annette is ready for her next belt test next week Yellow Belt and is excited. She told me she wants the 3 year deal and go for the black belt. My girl has learned to kick all ways, punch, and most important block kicks and punches. She has learned when someone grabs her wrist how to get free etc. Come summer I will still be not far but sooner or later the neighborhood bullies watch out. Annette has gained more confidence I am proud of her. I did tell he in dance only 1-2 next year has to cut back due to $ for both. Sorry for the long update. I do have her school photo but do not know how to post and have been asking hubby every weekend so someday I will surprise all and by June he dance ones will be up. Jill
