These budget cuts are really making me angry. I got a phone call from Sean's counselor today. She was officially letting me know that her position has been eliminated. That I already knew but then she told me some more *great* news. During Sean's IEP for next year we met his teacher. She helped create his IEP for next year, Sean got to meet her also. Well surprise-nobody told me that now she will NOT be his teacher. Because of all those who have lost their jobs they had to shuffle teachers around. So they are not even sure who the 4th grade teachers will be yet!! But they do know that it will NOT be the teacher we met who helped us with IEP to accomodate Sean in her classroom. UGH!!!

As usual, the budget cuts are going to the places where they can least be afforded.

That stinks. I hate when they change things around on you like that.ESPECIALLY when you worked so hard to make things better for your kid & now you have no idea how his teacher will be next year. UGH.

This counselor has been my lifeline to the school. She is the only one who ever kept me in the loop. She has helped us numerous times and Sean LOVES her. She really cares about the kids and she was very upset, I think she was even crying at the end, when we were on the phone. So she actually cares about the kids-so of course it was her position that was eliminated. So wrong and so unfair.

I'm so sorry KK. I pray Sean's new teacher will be a great one. You've just got to be sick to your stomache about the counselor. Don't they realize these kids make meaningful connections with these people. Grrrrrrrrrr!
