Well, I finally dropped the boom this morning on Becca. Lately, we have been so frustrated with her because she never made up work for one of her classes after an absence. Early this morning, after being up almost all night with a migraine, when I finally felt better, I popped online to check her grades and and I found out that she has 2 F's and an F for the final grade in the class. The class is an easy one, Year Book, and there is no excuse. I was furious to say the least. I sat and really thought about what to do. When she got up, I let her get ready and have her breakfast and then calmly let her know I found out about her grades. I also let her know that some privileges she enjoys will be gone until I hear from the teacher that she has received the work from Becca and it was completed correctly. I found out from Becca this morning that she had the papers last night and never did them when she had all night to do them. I'm not really sure how long she's had the papers. She claims she just got them yesterday, but who knows. I emailed the teacher and will find out today. Becca was angry this morning and saying all kinds of nasty things, but instead of yelling or fighting with her I just ignored her and told her that she has no options but to do the work if she wants her privileges back. She was not a happy camper this morning so I know it hit home. I'm hoping I'll see the grades change by the end of this week. I really am pleased at how I handled it instead of losing my temper. My H is also backing me up so we shall see what happens by the end of today. Should be interesting.......

Congratulations on not yelling! I guess it was a good thing for her that you had some time to sit, think, and compose yourself! And it's not like you're asking her to move the moon....just do her school work that is required of her. She'd have been fired from her job if she were working for not producing what she's supposed to do.....
Good job mom!

Good for you, Losty! What you just did will set the tone for future assignments. What's that saying...."If what your doing isn't working do something completely different."
I'll be interested to hear how it goes.

I can't wait to see how it goes too. I'm VERY proud that you kept your cool. I know how hard it is to bite your tongue when your teenager is running her mouth, believe me I know!

I love that graphic too, very cool. You sure can find them Misty. I need to find a lazy bum one for my daughter,LOL. She still hasn't finished or handed in the work so she is still punished. She was shocked that we aren't relenting. Still holding firm. I'll keep you all posted. Gotta run for now. Thanks so much for your support!

I love them Misty! Thanks for finding them for me. I wish I had a better update but as of today one project still is not done. She handed in the other one yesterday and was suppose to meet the teacher today during recess and do her other project. She said she went to the classroom and waited a few seconds and the teacher didn't show. I know my daughter. She probably didn't wait long enough. Needless to say, privileges are still revoked until the work is done. I called and emailed the teacher but will have to wait until Monday to find out what happened. I really could scream at this point. Every darn time she is out sick for just one day she winds up with an F and we have to go through this rigamoro, UGH! Anyway, hope everyone has a relaxing weekend. We are still waiting on news about my Brother-N-Law's Mom. I'll keep you all posted in the other section.

I think maybe your daughter is playing a waiting game with her parents....in hope of one of you reinstating her privileges! Stay strong....you are not alone...been there!

Good news. We did get the one project done and the teacher wrote me back today and told her that it was not Becca's fault that they missed each other last week to do the second project. The teacher forgot but is getting together with Becca this Thursday. I wish it was sooner then Thursday but at least it's progress.
