Jarred received his report card the other day. Its not honor roll or anything but alot better than what i have seen in the past. English-C Soc. Studies- A Reading- A Math- D Science- B Health-A P.E. - B Yesterday we had the psych appt. She has read over his IEP. I asked her what she thought. She said it was just a bunch of words. I thought it was just me. This thing is 17 pages long and it just doesnt make any sense. The doc is going to talk to Jarred's counselor and come up with something to send to school. The classes he is suppose to be getting help with are his lowest grades English and Math. He does get help in reading too but seems to be doing really well in that area. He even moved up to another reading class. I told him i was very proud of him and that we need to figure out how to pull that math grade up.

I like Jarred's psych - I'm so glad he didn't just play along with the school. I hope they get something in his IEP that makes sense and aren't "just words".
And yippee for Jarred. I'd say those are pretty darn good grades.

Its obvious he is working hard. I'm so glad the psych agreed that the IEP isn't a good one. I can't wait to see how well he does with real help instead of just the panacea they have tried to pawn off on you so far. He should be very proud of himself! What are you going to do to celebrate his success?

Thanks everyone. Yes i cant wait to hear what the doc will come up with too. I feel Jarred has been working very hard. He knows he has to bring all homework home now, with the daily sheets coming home everyday. I think we will go sledding either after school or tommorow. He can go for hours. I just cant stand out in the wind for hours. It hurts..

It is wonderful when things start looking up, isn't it?
Hopefully the psych can get an effective IEP going for him.
Congrats Jarred!

that is good that he is working hard and seeing the rewards of doing it! That seems to me a pretty good indicator if the kid is putting it out there, the IEP is not worded right and his classes he is supposed to be getting support in are his lowest grade! come on school, get with the program.
