finding a support group « Thread Started on Mar 19, 2006, 8:24am » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- being a part of a homeschooling support group can be an important and enjoyable part of you and your child's homeschool experience. for your child, it may mean an opportunity to make and develop friendships with other children, participation in "specials" such as art, music and gym, field trip experiences and more. for the adult, it can offer an opportunity to meet with other parents, ask questions and gain information on the many aspects of homeschooling. it can be a great way to "vent" and be an "adult" for a little while. some support groups are very developed in that they hold regular meetings, outings, field trips and have organized sports programs. some offer curriculum exchanges. you can "google" homeschool support groups and search for one in your area. here's a link to one i found by doing the same. homeschooling.gomilpitas.com/weblinks/support.htmanother way to keep in touch with other homeschooling families is to join a homeschool discussion forum- similar to this. this one has yet to take off there are more developed ones that have many members. however and wherever you choose, finding a support group is simply a good idea! « Last Edit: Mar 19, 2006, 8:25am by kppy »
