I was tring to find a link in the FDA and the CFSAN on a new ADHD treatment. It's called Synaptol I'm sure you have had other people mention it. I can't find any type of clinical trials, side effects listing. I can't even find the list of herbal stuff they have in it!!!
Here's my catch 22 I have a 5 year old with excema, asthma, long list of allergies including trees grass mold hay dust flowers plants, certain foods the list goes on and on it has been an uphill battle. I cannot control him anymore he is in kindergarten. He has been hit by a car very lightly but still. He loves the fire alarms in just about any store, he moves at the speed of light all day. If you try to make him follow thru with cleaning toys eating fruits and vegatables or Kindergarten homework it's like a root canal He is out of control! some days I feel like the meanest MOM on the planet
Because he is on Albuterol for his asthma this sends his heart rate anywhere between 130- 180 beats per minute. When he has to come down off the meds it's like a person coming off crack! The pharmacist said that my son would not have any drug interreactions between ADHD Meds and AAAALLLLL the other stuff I cant believe that. THis is just the icing on the cake my husband has had ADHD all his life, we believe that I might have gone undiagnosed because I show all the signs to a tee, and I have a 9 month old boy as well lets hope he doesn't have it.

Wow! I would be afraid of ADHD meds too with your sons other medical problems. I never heard of synaptol but heres some of what I could find out about it:
Below is a short explanation of each ingredient in Synaptol™ and its proven benefits in safely normalizing metabolic levels and promoting good health.
Aloe barbadensis extract 200:1 ....It has been proven to have a diverse array of benefits from antibiotic, astringent, and pain reliever and cell growth stimulator.
Tragacanth gum . . . Studies have shown that it increases the production of interferon and cell to cell communication such as those in the brain.
Beta-Glucan 1,3/1,6 . . .The active linkages of 1, 3 & 1, 6 molecules in beta-glucan cause certain immune cells to fight and communicate better to overcome imbalance.
Arabinogalactan . . . Impressive studies have shown beneficial effects on healthy digestive flora as well as helping to balance metabolic systems and may have a vital role in immunological function and mental focus.
Shiitake mushroom extract. . . Shiitake has the ability to increase your body's interferon levels, lower blood cholesterol levels, reduce high blood pressure, and enhance cellular metabolism.
Cordycep mycelia extract . . . Cordycep benefits anyone in need of more stabile cellular energy and mental clarity.
Maitake mushroom extract . . . Research has shown that it benefits insulin resistance and may have anti-diabetic properties, as well as many more.
Ghatti gum . . . Ghatti is a complex polysaccharide, which is a natural source of calcium, magnesium and potassium.
I could find no evidence of any clinical trials. I must say the flashy websites & the fact that I found references to it on adult weight loss forums makes me a bit leery of it.
If you want to try alternatives, look at the Omega3 thread in the alternative medicine section here. My daughter has shown VAST improvements on them & they HAVE been clinically tested & proven to help with ADHD. If you have questions asbout them, feel free to PM me anytime!
Oh & one other thing: I know how you feel, but rest assured that you are NOT a "Bad mom"! You're a GREAT mom whos digging deeper & deeper in search of the right treatment for your much loved child.
