My doctor has just prescribed me OMACOR 1GM . This is a very pure omega 3 oil used to naturally treat high cholesterol . The best thing about OMACOR is that they don't repeat on you . Just some idea's .

We have just started on 'Coromega'. Has anyone heard about this one? Son is 7y.
It doesn't say anything about it's ratio, but it does say 'pharmacutical grade'.
It's supplement facts say:
'Long Chain Omega-3 fatty acids 650mg
epa 350mg
dha 230mg
It comes in a packet of orange creamy gel. Tastes fine and my son swallows it without any trouble.
Very expensive, so I hope it has the correct ratio!

I've heard its very good. I wouldn't worry about it too much as long as you see it making a difference.

Just a reminder: it can take up to 3 months for you to see the full effect and a lot of the benefits sneak up on you so you may not think its working until you think back to before you started it and realize things aren't quite as bad as they were.

I noticed some difference with my son within a couple of weeks of his starting omegas but didn't realize the real affect it was having on him until one day when it hit me that we hadn't had a major tantrum in quite a while where they used to be several times a day.

that helps to know that we may need to stick to it for that long to see effects. My son has depression/anxiety/touch of adhd and ODD and it would be great if this helped the Tenex make a difference. My Mother also suffers from severe clinical depression and I'd like to see her begin Omegas. She also has such severe joint pain and I heard they may be good as an antiinflammatory too.
I find it hard to stay focused many times too, and I may begin taking it if it works for him, but when it comes to the financing of it, he'll get it first!

I didn't find omegas helping my son with focus as much as I would have liked. He only took flax seed oil with nothing else so hopefully the Coromegas will help more with that. It did help some though. To me, the anxiety and depression were more worrisome than the lack of focus. They also can cause focus problems so if they can be controlled you may still be happy with the results.

Saint John's Wart also can help with depression. If your mom is still depressed with the omegas, you may want to add some of that to her omegas.

I have had my kids on Nordic naturals DHA since they were 2 y.o. I have seen nice changes in their development. I am also an occupational therapist who works in early intervention. when i recommend DHA to my parents it only takes 2 weeks to see my kiddos begin using single words and pointing. I don't know if its coincidence, but I am a believer.

EPA is an important vitamin of fish oil; EPA may reduce the risk of depression. It is good if fish oil supplement contains both vitamins in good ratio.
