Probiotics have long been considerd very helpful in promoting digestive health. There was a study done giving probiotics to children with autism. The study collapsed because the parents of the children who were given the probiotics saw such remarkable improvement that they refused to allow their kids to be taken off them for the next part of the trial. Since ADHD is considered by many to be on the autism spectrum, albeit very high functioning, I thought I'd post this. I'm going to try my son and myself on them. Treatment with 'friendly' bacteria could counter autism in children Ian Johnston Science Correspondent www.life-enthusiast.com/index/Education/Probiotics/AutismA link to an article which explains the more common uses and how it they work, of probiotics is here. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Probiotics

I will definitely ask my doctor about it at our visit on monday...Chase is on guanfacine, which slightly lowers blood pressure, then the stimulant slightly raises BP. The info states that BP may be slightly affected, so I am going to run it by the doc first....
Stands to reason if his tummy was out of whack, he may be sick to his stomach....

One thing I've learned is it is especially important to use probiotics and get enzymes in your system (eat yogurt) after anti-biotics are given. Anti-biotics do a number on the stomach and if things aren't moving in the intestinal track they can make a person very sick to their stomach to the point of up-chucking. Not sure if Chase has been on anti-biotics recently but thought I'd toss that in. LOL

Nope he hasn't been on any since last winter, I think when he had a sinus infection.....he and Jake both spent most of their infancy on one antibiotic or another though...I had to feed them yogurt a lot to counteract the antibiotic diarrhea...it was a staple in their diet. I will have to buy some more, haven't thought about it, but it can't hurt...
As far as I know, (he isn't up yet) he made it through the night again.

Since we are on Probiotics....we just switched Mom to a new supposidly better one that you can eat with your meals and it is supposed to go directly to the lower intestinal track. Well, Mom was allergic to it so back to the old. Sheesh.
