I'm not sure how many grams are in the Primerose but this is what the FDA says: In 2000, FDA announced a similar qualified health claim for dietary supplements containing EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids and the reduced risk of CHD. FDA recommends that consumers not exceed more than a total of 3 grams per day of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids, with no more than 2 grams per day from a dietary supplement. www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/news/2004/NEW01115.html

I would take the vitamin E just to be on the safe side. I don't really know about primrose oil, but I know someone I can ask so I'll let you know as soon as I find out.

I asked on another board I belong too. Hopefully they know more than I do. I'd like to know the answer too. Then I can add Primrose Oil to the growing list of subjects I've learned about! lol

Ok, I got an answer. Yes, its fine to take primrose oil along with Fish oil. The combo helpful for menstrual cramps along with ADHD. The recommended combined amount of GLA you should be getting is 250mg. Take the vitamin E because the fatty acids in the primrose oil will oxidize, just like any other fat & the vitamin E will help clean up the waste.

Thanks for helping with the info on primrose. I heard it had helped with menstral cramps and i was takeing it a year ago. then decided to take the fish oil instead along with the kids. So i will continue to take both. How much vitamin E would you take with both. i was only takeing maybe 100mg. plus whatever is in the fish oil we take.
