Just wondering if anyone who is taking a stimulant is also taking welbutrin 150. For the first 7 days it is once a day, and then one in the AM and one after lunch,,,,,
I am interested in knowing what the side effects some of you have had.
Loss of appetite
more of an appettite
anxiety
sleeplessness
too much sleep
or anything else you can think of

I have taken Wellbutrin for years and it has helped me function better. I have never taken stims so I can't tell you how they affected me together but I can discuss Wellbutrin.
I have gained weight on it. It also leaves a funny taste in my mouth that took some getting used to. I don't taste it any more but food doesn't taste as good to me. In spite of that I want to snack a lot more.
I sleep better at night and usually can fall right to sleep. If I don't take it for a couple of days, I have trouble staying asleep. I have taken it at night and it did affect my sleep when I took the full amount every night. Now I can take it at night if I forgot it during the day and its fine. I just won't take it several nights in a row.
If I think of anything more, I'll come back and add it in.

I took welbutrin and it made me dizzy and it may be because I smoke and wellbutrin is the same exact med as zyban everytime I would light up a cig it made me sick. I quit taking it because of the dizzyness. I couldn't wait to see if it passed over because I could not take care of my kids.

How funny.. I havent visited in a while, showed up, and find just what I need.. LOL
I just started my first dose of Wellbutrin last night. I am also on 36mgs of concerta. funny thing, the dr prescribed it to help with anxiety? I haven found anything online to show me that it is even done off label.
Well, I am to take it ( xl 150mgs.) at night for 2 weeks then the sr version twice a day from then on. Last night I did not get to sleep until about 2am and then awoke around 5:15 to start my day. I really had a good day today, but I don't like the idea that I got so little sleep... I usually need a good 8 - 9 hours to function.
The stimulant properties along with the concerta did well for me during the day.. but i am hoping the insomnia will resolve.. yikes!
Anyone know if it is appropriate to take something to help me sleep such as Tylenol PM? I'm not going to take anything until I know for sure, but if anyone has any experience, it would be nice to know.

My dr told me Wellbutrin has a very mild antianxiety property but is mainly an antidepressant.
How late are you taking it? It does tend to keep you from sleeping well if taken too late, especially when you first start taking it. I've taken it for years and if I forget to take it and take it in the evening, it doesn't bother me. I was taking twice as much and the evening dose did keep me up then.
I would ask the dr about taking a sleep aid. Tylenol pm would probably be ok, as would melatonin or even something like Nytol but since you are taking Wellbutrin and Concerta both, it could affect you differently than it does me. It always is better to check with your dr.

I took a different antidepressant before he put me on Wellbutrin and I didn't sleep for 3 days straight and I talked non stop. I had the dr in stitches when I went in to show him what it did to me. Up to then, I had been so depressed that every time I saw him I got all teary.
