Yep the tenex makes chase sleepy too. During the day, if we dont' keep him busy, he will take a nap, because he also takes a small morning dose, and is off the stim for the summer. When he was on the stim, the daytime drowsiness was not a problem.

OK...today was the first day that I noticed the Tenex really working. Josh has been on it for a little over 2 weeks, and although I've noticed a slight calming, it wasn't until we added the morning dose that he's been much more enjoyable to be around.
Last night was the first night that he really slept well, no night time awakenings. So maybe I was just jumping the gun on this. He woke up happy as a clam today, not one single moment of frustration. We had the nicest day, he was completely calm. I didn't even notice when the Tenex was wearing off.
So, I guess we'll just keep plugging on. I was ready to give up, but if I keep seeing the results I seen today, it just might be the ticket.

About the melatonin...I was looking at it tonight when I was at the drug store and I have a couple questions. Does anyone know if there are chewable tablets or are they all the kind you have to swallow? Sean can no way swallow pills. Also they all said for adults only and not for children under 12. Do all brands say this? I was thinking of trying this as a more natural alternative to the Atarax but Im not sure if it's possible now. I think I'm going to buy them for myself and see if they work

KK I know that GNC has some 1 mg that are sublinguil, they melt in your mouth and are cherry flavored I think...I am not sure of the age requirement...but there are many parents of ADHDers that are under 12 using melatonin for their children.

I noticed a difference after a week or 2 as well.

Thats great Bugsmom! I hope it keeps working for you. Everything I saw when I was trying to find out about it was that people either loved it or hated it. I'm so glad its working for Josh!

Well I found the melotonin and it seems to be working and ds is sleeping at a more decent hour. WOOOOHOOOO!
BUT, he has had two diffrent rashes in the past three days! Don't have any clue where they came from! Nothing has changed except for the melotonin! No new soap or in the woods. His rash to night looks more like welts! Its more around the wast of his paints. I got a simmilar rash when I was taking to much Ibprofin. Could this be from the Melotonin?
I read the bottle and there is a big list of what is NOT in the melotonin. All the "known allergins" are not in it! But this is the only thing I can think of that have changed in the last week.
His rash that he got yesterday was on his chest and it was less patchy and more a solid patch of red. He put on some calihist and it is gone now. Then this new one popped up. Every morning I decide we will make an apt it is gone! In the past three weeks he has had three rashes, a bee sting and some other unknown bug bit! This is getting rediculis! Its always something! This is driving me crazy. One thing after another!

hmmm...I never heard of an allergic reaction but I guess anythings possible. stop the melatonin for a few days & see if the rash comes back or not...thats the only thing I can think to do. It sounds like hes getting hives.

Have you considered heat rash? If its where his clothes fit snugly or there isn't much air flow, it could be heat rash. That would also account for him not having it in the morning. Its cooler and he isn't running around getting hotter at night.
If its not that, it could be the melatonin. Anything can be an allergen for the right person.

Thats what I was going to say, heat rash. This could be true around the waist band and also on his chest. When I would sun tan I'd break out in some sort of heat rash that looked like welts on my chest - mostly upper chest. I guess you'd know if that was it if he has been playing outside or swimming and it has been hot.
Other than that then I think you may have to remove the melatonin like Misty said and see what happens.
