This is going to sound wierd i know? I am having some very minor issues with myself lately and am trying to figure it out. I have been sleeping less than usual, didn't sleep much before anyway, but i am down to 3 and 4 hours sometimes. I am feeling a little anxious and unadaptable to change at this moment?
I did not take my medication concerta today, not real sure why? Just wanted a break day i guess. Do any of u that take adhd medication feel like this sometimes?

The only ADHD med I've ever taken is Wellbutrin and I believe that is totally different from the concerta so I can't really help you with the med issue.
I do get streaks when I go through what you are describing though. It may be an ADHD issue rather than having anything to do with the med.
I wonder if you could be adapting to the med to the point where you might need an increase or a change to something else. Have you discussed it with your dr?

yeah i have sorta or mentioned it to him, but i draw a blank in his office and hit the automatic response of everything is fine?
He has brought it up though and we have talked about the sleep and stuff - i think the study that i am in though limits what he wants to mess with?

You really need to write everything you want to discuss with him down. I do the same thing at the dr's. If I can remember what I want to discuss, I can't figure out how to express it so he understands. If you write it down, it makes it much easier.

I started thinking about something stressful you mentioned on another site that was going on right now.
Have you tried taking something to help you sleep? Its hard enough for ADHDers to turn their minds off at night anyway and when you combine that with worrying about something, its almost a given that you won't be able to sleep.
Maybe you could take some melatonin or benedryl, see if that helps you relax.

yeah maybe i am too stubborn to realize i am stressed i guess? The words stress and depression have always been associated with weakness in my world - can't show any signs of that now can we? I tore the house apart looking for the melatonin today - it is here? I am going to try some muscle relaxers i had left over from the last time i tweaked my back - i feel like i am gonna lose it if i cannot sleep!!! Not in a bad way though - i will just spaz out!!! I already screwdd up a bunch today - i just now realized the kids meeting at school is tommorow the 22nd and not tuesday - i have to get prepped for that and a huge meeting at work thursday that is going to take 3 days to get ready for.

Don't stress yourself out to much because that never helps either. I have had those spells to feeling like there is 5 min in a day and the house and life are flying past. Plus the not sleeping most of my posts are at night when I can focus Charliegirl really has the right idea sometimes I am so overwhelmed just getting to the Dr.'s office he walks in and I say here this is my problem. This way he gets it all, not just one symptom of like 5 more that he really needs to get you the correct diagnoses. The other thing I do when I am feeling anxious and having a hard time moving from one situation to another is cut my sugar and caffeine, Chocalate is my weakness. It is said that coffee and pop can have an effect on the way you feel and act when you have ADHD. Some people have negative effects and some people say it has positive reactions. My 5 year old has a negative reaction I have a negative reaction, my husband drinks Mountain Dew like water

yeah maybe i am too stubborn to realize i am stressed i guess? The words stress and depression have always been associated with weakness in my world - can't show any signs of that now can we? LCDC . . . I understand what your saying. Most/Many of us have felt the same way at times and maybe still do from time to time . . . and most of the people in our lives reinforce this Negative & Unrealistic stereotype upon us also. One Day, everyone will be free to say, ''I'm unhappy or I'm depressed and don't know why. '' We should be aloud . . . We should be able tell OUR SELFS, Hey I have the RIGHT to express my feelings even if they are negative {or appear negative} and/or make other people uncomfortable {or make US uncomfortable}. If your eyes don't work perfectly and you need to wear glasses, few people say to themselves, ''Yikes, I can't show any signs of weakness now can I ?'' If your allergic to cats, few if any people pretend that they are not. Why put up with the negative, annoying reactions that the allergy results in. A healthy adult would say to themselves, ''Hey I'm gonna wear those glasses or contact, no matter how annoying it is to me or anyone else. If they don't like the fact that I have to wear these glasses and that it changes the appearance that they see, TO BAD for them. It's their problem, not mine. Why should I make THEIR problem, my problem.'' PS ~ Of course we can't go around using our ADD as an Excuse, just a Reason for why we do what we do . . .
