In 2005 The Council of Chief State School Officers put out a testing accommodations manual. This manual could be very valuable in your IEP meetings. Plain and clearly written, it is filled with Do/Don't lists. It details a five-step plan for use of accommodations in assessments and provides fact sheets and teacher tools. The five steps are: 1. Expect students with disabilities to achieve grade-level academic content standards. 2. Learn about accommodations for instruction and assessment. 3. Select accommodations for individual students. 4. Administer accommodations. 5. Evaluate and improve accommodations use. It's available in PDF (56 pages, 299 KB). Here's the link again: www.ccsso.org/content/pdfs/AccommodationsManual.pdf
