-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FormSpy, a new Trojan, is infecting Firefox. The keylogging Trojan installs itself as part of the browser. For that to happen, the computer must already be infected with the Downloader-AXM Trojan. It installs itself as a Firefox extension.
FormSpy steals sensitive information, such as bank account and credit card numbers. It forwards the information to a malicious Web site. The Trojan can also steal passwords to Webmail accounts.
The Trojan arrives as an attachment in a spam e-mail. It purports to come from Wal-Mart. The attachment name matches an order number contained in the e-mail message.
You can easily protect yourself. Don't open spam messages. Don’t open attachments, even from trusted sources, unless you’re expecting them. And keep your security software current.
