This is from my Kim Komando newsletter: Unlike most accelerators, this program is for broadband users. Accelerators work a few ways, and they won't speed up seeing all Web pages. Google Web Accelerator does the following: * Sends your page requests through Google machines dedicated to handling Google Web Accelerator traffic. * Stores copies of frequently looked at pages to make them quickly accessible. * Downloads only the updates if a web page has changed slightly since you last viewed it. * Prefetches certain pages onto your computer in advance. * Manages your Internet connection to reduce delays. * Compresses data before sending it to your computer.
