Italian Dressing
This dressing is so easy to make & is a great source of Omega 3 essential fatty acids!
1cup pure canola or walnut oil
1/4 tsp dry mustard
1/4 tsp celery seed
1/8 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp salt
2 dashes pepper
Combine all ingredients in a covered jar & shake well. Refridgerate 24 huours before using, Shake well before serving.
Easy Chili
The kidney beans & oils used are rich in Omega 3.
1 lb lean ground beef
19 oz. can kidney beans( drain & save liquid)
2/3 cup bean liquid
15 oz tomatoe puree
1 T minced onion
2 T chili powder
2 T pure canola oil
Lightly brown ground meat. Drain. Stir in remaining ingredients & bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover simmer 10 minutes.
Apple Lemonade
This is a delicious, nutricious version of the old time favorite drink without the sugar, artificial flavors or artificial colors.
1 cup pure unsweetened apple juice
2 T pure lemon juice
Combine juices. Chill & serve over ice.
Carob drop Brownies
The canola oil & walnuts in this recipe are rich in Omega 3
1/2 cup mashed banana
1/3 cup canola oil
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
1 cup unbleached flour
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup unsweetened carob powder
2 T wheat germ
1/4 tsp bakingsoda
1/3 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven 350 degrees. In a mixing bowl, beat together banana,oil, vanilla, eggs & milk until creamy. Beat in flours, carob,wheat germ, & baking soda. Stir in the nuts & oats & mix thoroughly. Coat a cookie sheet with veg. cooking spray. Drop batter by the teaspoonful onto cookie sheet & bake 8-10 minutes, until just firm to touch. Dont over bake. Cool before serving for full flavor. Makes about 48 small brownies.
