JJ, I know how you feel about diet pop, because I feel the same way about regular! Any regular soda (other than root beer) is just totally disgustingly sweet & the taste is like syrupy & horrible! I have to have diet...it tastes SO much better! The aspartame is another story. By the time I found out how terrible aspartame is, I was already hooked on diet pop. Tigger, Thats GREAT! You are really doing awesome!

Good for you Tigger and everyone else who is cutting back! I need to find one fattening thing to cut back on because I notice some of those 10 lbs. are coming back that took me well over a year to shed. Dang!

I too was/am a coke/pepsi addict . Which ever one I could get my hands on. I would drink at least a 2 liter bottle a day. In the past I knew when ever I would give up the cola's I would lose at least 5 lbs. in a week. But that wasn't enough to stop me. I always went right back to it. But within the past couple of months my acid reflux has really acted up and my throat was always irritated. I decided not to drink more than 1 glass of soda a day. When I did my throat cleared up and I felt much better. On the days for whatever reason I forget and drink more than one, by that night my throat starts up and I know what caused it. I am working hard at getting it completely out of my diet.

Hmm......I've been getting some acid reflux lately myself. I never thought of the Diet Coke possibly being the cause.

OK...OK....Here is another update on me with giving up the pop!!!!! Well, I have not drank a pop since june 13. Besides some issues it has cause me buy getting sick with headaches and dizzy spells. I am doing really, well now I have lost 4 inches. I am not sure how many pounds yet. But I am doing really well. I dont eat as much and I make sure I try to get some type of excercise every day. So I am doing good I hope you who all is trying to give it up keep up the good work and trying. It is hard I had a few problems along the way but I found out that I am no longer can drink pop. I had a can a few weeks after I had stopped and it made me really really sick so I know now I can never drink pop again.

As you know I have always been a coke all day kind of girl. I have been down to 1 a day since NY. Do have an occasional slip, like when we go out to eat or something, or when I severely need caffeine in the middle of the day. But so far, so good.

Way to go Tigger and Uni! I will admit-I quit quitting. I just like my Pepsi too much. I gave it up for about a week then changed my mind. I have been working on the exercising though.

Although I did not give up my Diet coke & have no intentions of doing so, I did buy water today! I had a coupon for the fruit 2 O. I bought the raspberry flavor & its REALLY REALLY good! So maybe I'll at LEAST up my intake of water.
