OK, Misty, now you will be sorry you posted this section, cause I am posting like crazy! Oh by the way, just to be fair...Barb, Misty and I all collaborated on this section. I don't care about credit for myself but Barb was just as much a part of this as Misty. I'm not sure where you got that idea but I just wanted to set the record straight. Since the issue has come up, I'd like to take the opportunity to explain how changes to our site are made and how we determine whether they are in the interests of our site and our membership. We always work together before we make any changes to the site. This enables us to make sure the site stays true to the original intent and isn't influenced by any one person's perception or bias. Many of us have had experience with a site where an admin became power hungry and chose to flaunt power at the expense of the site's integrity. Our global mod is also always welcome to give us his opinion and insight. Many times he has been instrumental in creating a positive change here. We have also been known to ask the opinions of our mods concerning changes we were considering and they have influenced the site. I also don't want to leave out the member suggestions and the poll results of our regular members we have weighed when making decisions in the past.

It is not in her room yet, I have to cut a mat for it and then put it in the frame. The problem with oil pastels is they never really set and if they touch the glass directly, it is a problem. When we held it up on her wall, she liked it and the light apple green is a good background!

There was some kind of spray we used to set the pastels when we used them in high school. Maybe you could try a clear craft spray, just spraying very lightly. I'll have to see if I can find out what it was we used. Check this out. You need to scroll 2/3 or so down to where it says Protecting the finished Oils 2,005. It talks about 4 different ways and the last is the spray fixative. It also shows a picture with and without the spray on it so you can determine whether you want to use it. www.oilpastelsociety.com/primer.htm

ok, that was good information that I did not know. I have a spray for drawings to fix them. I have sprayed a couple drawings and it works well without losing too much integrity, problem is the drawing fixer leaves a gloss or shine on the work. Ok, so I can get some good stuff here!
