OK, Misty, now you will be sorry you posted this section, cause I am posting like crazy! Some of you know I got a nice set of oil pastels for xmas and tried them out a few or so times, they are fun, but I am not used to them and my art is pretty primitive with them, but I do like the way the colors blend together when you smooth them out with you fingers! Here is one I did messing around trying to get the sense of fire. My scanner does not make it look like it does in person,

That to me is scary. Those poor trees & the poor wildlife that has to run from the fire, dying of smoke inhalation or left with no homes. I hate fire. It destroy so many wonderful things. However, I do like the picture. I can't draw or paint to save my life, so I really enjoy looking at what others can create.

most wildlife can stay ahead or away from fire, there are exceptions to really catastophic anomaly fires though!
It is the domestic animals that usually get in trouble, like cattle, horses, dogs, cats, because people leave them penned up in some fires and natural disasters, if they could get out of the pens and fences, they can usually stay ahead of the stuff or out of the way! One exception I had in a really bad fire year was in florida at a bunch of fast moving fires in Big Cypress and outside of Homestead, dead freaking frogs and some small gators all over the highways trying to get out of the way, then they got squished by cars!
I pulled a baby deer out of a brush pile ahead of a fire one time, the mom had left it hidden casue we were around and the baby will stay no matter what, so I pulled it out and carried it out, but then we had to give it over to the FWS to keep until it could take care of itself. In Oklahoma I was lighting a burn out to save some houses and a dog was hiding in a ditch all freaked out and I torched it and then saw him, I has to grab his scruff and drag him out howling and yelping! Then he was my friend for the day and he ate my MRE.
One time on the shuttle recovery mission in Texas, the temperature was freezing there was an ice storm, I was the division supervisor on one sector and was scouting ahead of the grid teams and there was this baby lamb, like a couple days old and the rancher had already herded the rest in to the pen for the night that was like 4 miles away. I took the thing in my coat and zipped him in and he was so quiet, I thought he was going to die. We gridded back up to the pen area like a few hours later and as soon as we got close he started yelling and bleating like I had never heard, you would have thought I was killing him, so I slipped him in the fence area and hoped he could find his mom. There was a pyrenese dog watching me and I am like nice dog, I am just putting it back!
My kids like my work buddies to tell that story, because we all try to scream and sound like that baby did, it is funny now!

LC - I like this one too. To me it is an expression of what you work with a lot in your job. You have nice work.

That last one is cool! (I already saw the other one - which I really like too) Normally I don't like really bright colors or modern art. However, just because I don't like it (for me) I can appreciate it. It looks like a perfect piece for your daughters bedroom.
You have so much talent and your talent isn't just in one type of art.
Keep em' coming.

OK, Misty, now you will be sorry you posted this section, cause I am posting like crazy! Oh by the way, just to be fair...Barb, Misty and I all colaborated on this section. I don't care about credit for myself but Barb was just as much a part of this as Misty. I'm not sure where you got that idea but I just wanted to set the record straight.

ok, well I was thinking collectively all though I did not state it that way! I do that often, think one thing and say another! I knew that from some PM's a while back!
jj - come on, you are supposed to be able to read my mind by now! ;D
Yeah, I am not that big into modern are either, something trish wanted me to try out for her, it was custom ordered art for her wall, she has this granny smith apple color on her one bedroom wall and this is OK for that.
