I did not realize they changed the name until this week from Sensory Integration to Sensory Processing Disorder so when I saw this on the board thought I did not relate until now. I took Annette to Borders bookstore and got her a couple of books and of course I love books too and self help books on the reduced rack marked 50% off I got "Driven to Distraction" and this book on Sensory "Sensational Kids Hope and help for children with Sensory Processing Disorder" by Lucy Jane Miller, ph.D. OTR.
This book is great so far explains so much and things I thought was her being defiant (ODD) symptoms or ADHD symptoms turns out to be sensory believe it or not. Things our private OT person has said to me are making sense this book is a must read and I got both books for $1.99 per they were marked 3.99 what a deal. I am only in the second chapter and have learned a lot and wanted to share.
