I just wanted to come on and introduce myself. I came over from Schwab and am also very sad to see that site go.
I have four children-3 girls ages 8,9 and 10 and my son is 7.
My girls are in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade and doing very well. Two older ones do awesome in school independantly and 3rd grader needs a little guidance but does great also.
My son is in 1st grade in a self-contained classroom with an AWESOME teacher! He contracted bacterial meningitis when he was three months old and is classified as traumatic brain injury.
Physically he is perfect but he has a very bad speech/language problem. He does excellent academically though! He can spell, do math and read pretty much up to level except he doesn't have any idea what he's reading b/c of receptive language problems.
He has come such a long way and he is the happies kid I've ever seen!
Anyway, glad to be here and look forward to reading all the good information. ;D
