This is great. I was wondering about AVG free version and if it keeps you updated. It says:
Note: The free version of AVG Anti-Spyware is actually the same as the paid version but after 30 days the active protection (i.e. memory monitor) becomes non-functional, automatic updates are disabled and kernel level self protection is turned off.
Nice to know. Guess I'm not so upset Norton asked me to remove it before installing their product.

Thats strange. I have had AVG for months and the automatic updates are still working daily.

Maybe you got it before they made that change to their policy or something. I dunno.

No, its one of those programs they tell you won't work after the trial period but they don't stop it. I do every once in a while go in and download one but I think that is because my system is set up to install updates in the morning and the new one comes in after that.

It should stop updating after a while. Mine stopped updating itself in November. I( still use it as a sheild, but I have avast too, which does update itself.
