Lillian...I have a quick question for you about the Stanford Achievement Test.
Josh's school gives this test to all the students every April. I am pretty ingnorant about these types of tests and I was wondering if this is the same test you mentioned in another thread that you liked.
Every year his results are pretty much all over the place. He will do badly in one subject, then seem to do well in it the next year. I've never really put much stock in the results because I know that he is a bad test taker. I also think that he randomly will just mark answers down to get the darn thing over with.
His math teacher is very concerned with him taking the math portion of the test this year. She has been tutoring him one day a week for over 5 months now. She is adamant about pulling him out of the classroom and having him take this part of the test in a quiet area of the school. I have no problem with this. She says he knows every bit of the math they do everyday, but when he is tested he just flops. I know he struggles a lot with math. I truly believe he has and LD in this area.
I was just wondering if this is the same test you've talked about before, and how well do you feel this test protrays a childs skill level. Thanks.
