Last night I cried for a very long time. This morning I decided to try and write (again). During my teen years, I used to write the weight of the world on paper. I have 4 books of poetry from horrible parents to "true love." Soon after I met my husband, I stopped writing. I wrote a few pieces for my son, and sort of lost them between pages. I think in order for me to write, I have to be very vuneralble. And it's hard to be that with your children.
I know I'm not "known" on this board like some of you are. But my son is 9 years old and is going through a lot of things from two chronic illnesses that almost took his life twice, to a possible mental condition, to bully/abuse in school to all add up to hardships at home. So I wrote this. I don't know if it's crappy yet. I usually put it to the side for a few days and come back. And I usually hate it. But I figured I would just post it and get it over with. Tell me what you think. -Anon
I used to mourn a lost childhood, of a life becoming too real, at a ripe old age of fourteen. Better to have loved and lost...
Your life became so real so fast, Your world made of glass. My shelter becomes weaker. And what do you mourn? You hardly had a chance, to experience ignorance. What does not kill us...
You'll be Superman, before your ten.

that is cool, I felt your pain as a parent for the kid you cannot protect forever! We may not know you personally, but we know you as we know all of ourselves and why some of us are here - for our kids that we want the best for! We are also here for ourselves and each other - so yeah, we know you!

Wow...thanks for sharing that Anon. That is really powerful. I'd love to hear some of your other writings.
I used to write a lot before I was married too. It would bring me such peace. I really miss it. I've got tons of journals and poems packed away in my old hope chest. It really does free the mind.
Thanks again for sharing...and feel free to post some more. I love everyone's poems about their children. We all can so relate to them.
