I'm not sure if I should post this thread here or on behavior section... Well, my girl is 11 (5th grade here). She is ADHDer. We are struggling in school more or less all the time (pure handwriting, trouble multiplication, inattention...). I gave teachers instructions I find on net, also instructions from her psychologist. But last month or two - she become impossible. She don't want to write, to work - always singing, talking to friends or imaginary friends, walking around, distracting other pupils. She would go to bathroom every 15 minutes (without need for), or she would knee on the (dirty) floor, touching other kids...and this is just the beginning of the list. She was like that at home too (soo impulsive), but it stopped in week...in school is same and worst.. Is it puberty, is she spoiled brat or just ADHD (or something more)? I have meeting in school tomorrow, I will see her dr next week... What else to do?

Has she been tested for learning disabilities? I'm just wondering if shes maybe acting out more because she can't do the work. Before my daughter was diagnosed & getting help for her math LD her teacher was constantly telling me how she would ask to go to the bathroom, sharpen her pencil, etc every few minutes. These behaviors virtually disappeared once her LD was recognized & addressed.

That is a good point misty, Ran who has a math LD would also find every excuse not to try to do math or pay attention in math - testing revealed her math LD and then it was understood there were major gaps in her knowledge that she did not have a clue what the teacher was trying to do or show the kids. Now on her IEP, she is doing so much better, still a lot of struggles, but the IEP helps.
Did you have your daughter tested by the school or elsewhere? Does you country do that type of testing in your school system?
Is your duaghter on ADHD meds?
Hang in there, hopefully the meeting will bring out some action items so you and the school can develp a plan to find out what is up!

I would lean on the Doctors the psychologist or psychiatrist or both for answers and what to do.

Her dr (Child Neuropsich) written there is some specific LD, but logopedist excluded it. She is not on meds, Im not pro meds - with liver cancer in family heritage - I'm afraid of any longterm meds.
Next week we'll see defectologist, then neuroped again and repeat testing for ADHD/andwhateverelse
without family support for this testing/ without teachers understanding Im on the end of my nerves...

I'm so sorry TOV (sorry, shortened your username, LOL).
Does the school give you a copy of the test results? I'm not the one to read test results but it would be interesting exactly what all they tested to determine she has no LD's or ADHD. How do they explain her behavior. Are they just saying it is all your fault that she doesn't stay in her seat, etc.?
Do I understand right? She was impulsive at home but that has stopped but it continues in school? I guess I'm a bit confused by that statement. (I blame my tired brain.) LOL
By the way, no she isn't a brat and I don't think puberty has a lot to do with it but maybe a little. She sounds like a kid who very much has ADHD or something that strongly looks like ADHD but is something else.
I wish I knew your country a bit better and your language. I'd be helping you look for options.
